Hong Kong is a heaven for food. There are restaurants virtually everywhere in the city. And you can find every cuisine you can think of here.

When the locals are thinking of where to eat out, they always go to the openrice website for advice. On the website you can see top ranking restaurants that are trending, restaurant reviews, search for restaurants in a particular neighbourhood, look for a specific cuisine. You can also make a reservation with some of the restaurants (unfortunately not a lot of them).

This is the link to the website. It’s in English so do give it a go and roam around and see if you find a place you like.

Being a local, I would often check out the restaurant chart and see what’s hot right now. Restaurants come and go so quickly in this city it’s hard to keep up!

If you are looking for a good restaurant near an area, there is a map search option where you can enter where you are and see what restaurants are nearby.

My experience with the website is there is a certain reliability for restaurants with 1) a lot of reviews 2) a mixture of good and bad reviews (If a place has 1000 good reviews and 0 bad reviews…that is a bit odd). However keep in mind that the restaurants that have very high ranking are very popular. In Hong Kong, popularity almost always equals…CROWDS! If they allow reservation, I do recommend booking ahead especially on Fridays and the weekend.
